Facts about this range

  • The (02) area code covers New South Wales and the Australian Capital Territory, including Sydney, Newcastle, Wollongong and Canberra.
  • Australian landline caller ID is supplied by the calling network and can be set to almost any number, so a local-looking number is not proof of a local caller.
  • Scam operations deliberately display landline numbers from the victim's own area — a technique known as neighbour spoofing — to raise the chance the call is answered.

If (02) 3814 5660 calls you again

  • If the caller claims to be a government agency or utility, end the call and ring the organisation on a number from their official website.
